Editors letter – achieving balance, winter 2018 issue 3

Welcome to the final edition of the newsletter for 2018. As the season changes and the end of the year approaches, we have spent some time looking back at the year to date. We would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for the events that we have worked on with you. 2018 has been a truly epic year for us with new products in the Fruitful portfolio and new starters in the team. All of this is only possible with your support and feedback – so thank you. Balancing the review of the year is the opportunity to look forward to 2019 and beyond. There are some new products that will be announced in January 2019 and we are already looking forward to what the year will bring.

The theme of this issue is balance and in planning it we realise that a lot of what we offer is balance: our Fruitful products often balance out the focused business sessions with something totally different; our Crescendo team work with our clients to ensure balance not only in content but also with venue selection and budgetary spend. On a broader note, balance is something that gets a lot of media air time at the moment – the work/life balance being the most talked about area. Working in a service industry, finding that balance can be a tough ask and we are delighted that we are going to be exploring this topic with our internal training sessions with Point3. Staff motivation, retention and support is often cited as a reason for many events and with work stress at an all time high and mental health high on the agenda it makes sense to combine the two to get even more from your events.

Meantime, we hope you find the perfect balance between high festive spirits and a relaxing break … see you in the New Year!
